The National ALS Registry Video Vignette

As a star college football player and later as a Super Bowl champion in the NFL, Brad Dusek took on the toughest of opponents. When Brad was diagnosed with the devastating neurological disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), he knew he was up against his toughest opponent yet. Brad, with encouragement and help from his family, joined the CDC’s National ALS Registry, an online resource dedicated to collecting information and providing a reliable source for the incidence, prevalence, and demographics of ALS and identifying potential risk factors. To tell his story, we got to know Brad and his family and were able to capture his indomitable spirit and sense of purpose as he fought back against ALS. The video vignette PSA we created with Brad is helping the CDC promote the ALS Registry as it works to provide hope to families and answers for researchers.
