Brighter Together

The Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville is an essential arts funding and advocacy organization in Northeast Florida.  The Council needed turnkey creative for the Arts Awards, its signature fundraising event. Our goal was to get people to come for the arts and stay for the unique party experience.

The belief that great cultural scenes – and parties – are made by individuals but defined by how they come together inspired the Brighter Together theme. The event branding was developed and applied to all print materials and digital collateral as well as all the visual assets for the event space.

We also took advantage of the event venue, an NFL stadium,  to create a unique interactive experience for attendees.  TIAA Bank Field features the two largest scoreboards in the world. We used them as massive displays for an audience-generated light show. This was made possible by a custom-built server application that converted the physical movements of small groups of revelers into a particle light display on the scoreboards. While a DJ, and a generous helping of libations, put bodies in motion, our motion-sensing installation connected community and culture in an experiential way.

Brighter Beginnings

Before Brighter Together took on life as a brand experience, it was a community experience – an experiment in recalibrating out-of-home advertising for maximum impact, good vibes, and social amplification. To mark the end of 2017, a year of political and social divisiveness, we wanted to find a unique, fun way to show how when people come together, they can impact the world in big ways. To do this, we went big, creating a real-time interactive installation that allowed pairs of participants to generate a dazzling 14-story light show. We also captured shareable images of the experience, giving the installation social currency.
